YoJo

YoJo is authentic, achievable wellness. Their existing members knew it, but it was time for YoJo to expand the reach of their classes and corporate workshops.

To aid their shifting B2B2C sales strategy, they needed a clear way to explain their value to the appropriate audiences. And, as non-technical founders, they were looking for a product strategy and design partner to embark on a new challenge: creating a mobile app.

In June 2024, YoJo launched their mobile app along with their new website. Following our engagement, YoJo is able to articulate their value clearly, secure larger clients, increase class attendance and improve client retention.

We started with company positioning to help the YoJo team make strategic decisions about the value they offer and to whom.


Then, we moved to persona messaging to help them find the exact words and brand voice to use for two distinct audiences. Helping them activate their new language, we delivered a sales deck and website copy recommendations that resonated with the right people.

A large focus of the engagement was strategy and design for the mobile app. While the YoJo team held industry subject matter expertise, they relied on Innovatemap to be the technical voice in the room.

“Innovatemap works really well with non-technical founders,” said Jessa. “I was wearing so many hats and I was exhausted, but they held my hand throughout the process and I’ve never grown so much in such a short period of time.”

As we completed development-ready app design, we helped them avoid common pitfalls through strategic planning and the collaborative nature of our work.

Following design, we connected YoJo with a trusted development partner, but the engagement didn’t end there. We equipped their team with promotional assets and product store assets, and assisted with developer communications and product audits.

Throughout the full development process, we managed the developer relationship to ensure the app came to life as it was intended.
